Top RO Water Purifier with Unconditional Warranty and No AMC for 2 Years Under ₹30,000
If you are wanting a water purifier which you can install and then practically forget about it for many years, then in that case Aquaguard Aspire Glow is the best option that we are recommending. This purifier is having a 12-stage purification system which is combining RO, 5th Gen UV LED, Active Copper and also Alkaline Boost together. With the supported TDS range of upto 2000 ppm, it can handle almost any type of water source in India, no matter it is municipal supply, borewell or the tanker water.
It is coming with a 4-year unconditional warranty which, as of now, is not matched by any other purifier in this list. The warranty is covering each and everything, means zero filter cost, zero spares cost and also zero service cost for full 4 years duration. This is also including the free installation and the unlimited repair visits. So because of this, the initial higher price is somewhat getting balanced by the fact that you will not be spending even a single rupee on the maintenance for these 4 years.
The overall purification performance of this water purifier is very excellent. The 12-stage process is effectively bringing down the TDS to the safe drinking levels, while at the same time the Active Copper Technology is enriching the water with copper, zinc, calcium and magnesium as per the BIS norms. In many of the purifiers, the copper cartridge is becoming less effective as the time passes, and it is requiring the replacement. But in this Aspire Glow, that degradation is very minimal, and this is happening because of the Auto Flush Technology that is periodically cleaning the filters and also the Anti-Scale Filter which is preventing the scale build-up.
When we first time installed the purifier, the first thing which we checked was the TDS reduction. Our input water was coming from a borewell and it was having a TDS of around 450 ppm. After the purification, the output TDS was between 45-55 ppm on the built-in display. I was very keen to see that whether this consistency is holding up over the time or not, so we monitored it on weekly basis.
After 3 months, when I checked the TDS readings, I found that they were remaining rock-steady and were fluctuating only between 48-60 ppm. I was little bit worried that the filter performance will drop as we are reaching near the 6-month mark, but that thing did not happened. The Auto Flush Technology was seeming to do its job in good manner, and it was keeping the RO membrane clean and also efficient.
After the 3 months also, the purification performance was virtually same as the day one. The water was tasting clean and slightly sweet in taste, which is nothing but the alkaline boost that is doing its work. I know that some of the people may find this taste slightly different from the normal RO water, but most of the family members, and this is including the children also, they preferred this mineral-enriched taste more than the plain RO water.
I was very seriously impressed by seeing that how much maintenance-free this purifier is turning out to be. In the more than 3 months of usage, we did not have to call even for a single service visit. The Intelligent Halo Lights were staying consistently blue in colour, which is indicating the normal purification. On top of that, the high-speed flow rate was meaning that we never had to do the waiting for water, and it was filling a glass in roughly 10 seconds only, which is noticeably faster if we compare with some other purifiers which we tested.

Top rated RO water purifier with 2.5 Years free service including filters
On the municipal water with TDS of about 350 ppm, the Livpure Allura Prime minimised the output to around 65 ppm and the flow was steady. The 10-step purification involved the elimination of sediments, carbon filtration, RO processing, UV sterilisation, UF polishing, copper infusion, and alkaline enhancement. This is a good set up in municipal supply where TDS is less than 500 ppm.
The copper infusion provided a trace of copper which was measurable like the Aquaguard models. The alkaliser increased the pH levels to the alkaline level, and the mineraliser replaced calcium and magnesium. In-tank UV maintained sterility of stored water even after a few hours, particularly handy with families who fill the tank in the morning and drink all day.

How We Tested?
To come up with the list of the best water purifiers at low maintenance cost in India, we have tested all the options of at least two weeks in normal homes with different water sources.
In order to objectively compare and analyse the models, we compare them based on a number of parameters and compare the results.

To ensure that the purification process is effective, we measure the input and output TDS with a digital TDS metre. We test the ratio of reduction and cheque whether the purified water TDS is in the safe and palatable range of 50-150 ppm. This assists us in knowing the real purification performance of each model.

To recover water, we determine how much water was purified and how much water was used. This is important since increased water wastage translates directly into your water bill which is a constant maintenance expense that most buyers do not consider.
Since the main concern of this list is maintenance cost, we monitor all the costs involved during and after warranty period. This will cover the cost of replacement of filters, AMC charges, technician visit fees and any other consumables. We then determine the unit cost of purified water per litre of each model.
In terms of quality of construction and durability, we consider the tank material, body construction, quality of fittings and tubing. The ease of replacing the filters is also evaluated, whether the user can do it or the technician is needed, since this affects the cost of maintaining the product in the long term.
How To Choose A Water Purifier With Low Maintenance Cost?
Purification Technology
The first and most obvious thing that users consider when purchasing a water purifier is purification technology. And of course, it has a direct effect on the quality of purification and maintenance cost.
Domestic water purifiers in India are offered in RO, UV, UF and combinations. Naturally, there are other alternatives, which also involve other technologies such as alkaline mineralisation, copper infusion and TDS control. However, the most important is the base purification technology.
Among them, the most widespread and successful combination is RO + UV + UF. RO manages the reduction of TDS and dissolved impurities, heavy metals, pesticides and microplastics. UV kills bacteria, viruses and other microorganisms. UF provides an added protection by eliminating ultra-fine suspended particles. The combination of all three technologies in a purifier is deemed to be the best fit in most water sources since it is able to treat municipal, borewell and tanker water.
Other purifiers such as the Atomberg Intellon have Intelligent Filtration System that automatically chooses the mode of purification depending on the input TDS. At low TDS, it does not go through RO and applies only UF + UV, which conserves minerals and lessens the wear on the RO membrane. This intelligent strategy prolongs the filter life and minimises the maintenance expenses in the long term. With that said, not every adaptive purifier is compatible. Not all of them can change modes correctly, and this may affect the quality of purification.

RO-only purifiers are not common in branded segment but are offered in local or unbranded. They do not have UV protection and hence they might not kill all the microorganisms. On the same note, UV-only purifiers can only be used on water that has low TDS and no dissolved impurities. When your source water contains high TDS, you will not be able to use a UV-only purifier.
100% RO processing purifiers such as the NATIVE M1 and V-Guard Rejive 2X make sure that all the drops go through the RO membrane without any bypass or mixing of the MTDS. Although this ensures maximum purification, it normally leads to increased wastage of water.
Filter Life and Replacement Cost
The two most significant parameters that can be used to calculate the long-term maintenance cost of a water purifier are filter life and replacement cost.
A filter life of 2 years or approximately 10,000-12,000 litres, whichever is reached first, is now being offered by most modern purifiers. This is much better than the older models which needed to change filters after every 6-12 months. The longer the filter life, the fewer the replacements, the fewer technician visits and the cost of maintenance is reduced.
The total cost of replacement of the filters differs greatly among the brands. Atomberg Intellon is the cheapest with a complete overhaul costing 2960. A full replacement of Aquaguard models will cost ₹5,999. The AMC of NATIVE M1 is about 4,500 in 2 years. V-Guard includes all replacements under 2-year unconditional warranty. When comparing purifiers, never fail to look at the costs of individual components because a certain brand might be more expensive on the cost of RO membrane and yet the cost of other filters is low.
You should also think about whether you are capable of replacing filters or you should hire a technician. Other brands such as aquaguard need certified technicians to replace their products which increases the cost in case you are not within the warranty clause. Others are easier to use with designs that can be changed to DIY filters.
TDS Values- Purifier to Source Water.
The amount of dissolved solids in your source water is indicated by TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) in parts per million (ppm). It is the one and the most important consideration when selecting a purifier.
- Less than 300 ppm – Municipal supply in the majority of metro cities. UV+UF purification is adequate, although RO may be employed with mineral restoration.
- 300-1,000 ppm -Most common in smaller cities and shallow borewells. RO+UV+UF is recommended.
- 1,000-2,000 ppm- Deep borewells and tanker water in most Indian areas. You should have a purifier that is rated as high TDS and has strong RO membranes.

Enquire about the highest TDS rating of any purifier. Even models that have a rating of 1,000 ppm will not work on 1,500 ppm source water, even though it may seem to work at first. The membrane becomes more degraded, the life of the filter is reduced and the quality of output is reduced.
Here we have covered TDS Controller Vs Mineralizer in Water Purifier
Water Recovery Rate – What Percentage of the Water is Wasted?
The process of RO purification uses water in its nature. Recovery rate informs you of the amount of purified water in relation to the litre of input water. Less waste implies higher recovery.
- 30-40% recovery – This is typical of old or low-end models. Every 10 litres of the processed are rejected at a rate of 6-7 litres.
- 40-50% recovery – Mid-range models of better membrane technology. The Atomberg Intellon has a maximum of 50%.
- 50-60% recovery – The Aquaguard Aura 2X with Dual Layer Filter Technology.
A purifier with higher recovery rate will save a significant sum of money in months in water-scarce areas or households that rely on tanker supply. The rejected water can be used to mop, garden, or flush but the less the volume of rejection the better.
Tank Material and Capacity
The material of the tank influences the hygiene of the stored water as well as the durability of the purifier in the long run. Stainless steel tanks such as those in the V-Guard Rejive 2X and Aquaguard Aspire Blaze are resistant to corrosion, do not form odour and preserve water longer. They are also stronger and do not deteriorate with time. Most other models use food-grade ABS plastic tanks which are lighter and cheaper but can develop minor odour or discolouration over a few years of usage.

Tank capacity is significant when the family is large or when water supply in the area is intermittent. The choices available in this list are 5.5 litres to 8 litres. A family of 4-5 should have an 8-litre tank such as in the Atomberg Intellon and NATIVE M1. A 5.5 litre tank can be purified more often, consuming slightly more power.
Warranty and Service Support.
One of the most directly affecting factors on the cost of maintenance is warranty. An all inclusive warranty that includes all filters, membranes and electrical components implies zero maintenance cost within the warranty period.
The majority of purifiers in this list have a warranty of 2 years, although the coverage is quite different. V-Guard Rejive 2X is the one that has a 2 year warranty that is unconditional and that has proactive scheduled service visits. Atomberg offers a 2-year warranty with zero-cost. NATIVE M1 has a 2-year unconditional warranty that is renewable to 2 years. Aquaguard models are usually provided with 1 year warranty with free service plans which include installation and visits to clean the aqua guard in the first year only.
After the warranty period, the AMCs are available and priced differently. Certain brands such as NATIVE have organised AMC plans. There are other such as Aquaguard who have their service network which charges per visit and component replaced.
The quality and the reach of the service network is important as well. Aquaguard boasts of the largest network of service in India including the small towns. V-Guard is well established particularly in South India. Atomberg and NATIVE are more based on urban-based service models. In case you are in a smaller town, it is better to cheque whether the brand has its services in your town before buying.
Smart Features
Intelligent functions such as IoT connectivity, application-based monitoring, TDS display and automated service notifications are becoming the standard of the modern purifier. They assist you in keeping track of filter health, water consumption and even automatic booking of service.
Atomberg Intellon and Aquaguard Ritz Pro are the leaders in this category, where they have the full integration of the app, real-time TDS monitoring, filter life monitoring and automatic service request. NATIVE M1 is also capable of smart monitoring.
Although smart features do not directly lower the maintenance cost, they allow you to prevent premature failures of the filters by notifying you about issues early. They also eliminate unwarranted visits by the technicians as they give you the correct filter life details thus you do not replace filters before they expire or after they have expired.
Budget
Low maintenance water purifiers cost as low as 10,000 to 28,000.
The cheaper alternatives such as Aquaguard Sure Delight ₹10,499 have 2-year filter life and reasonable purification. Atomberg Intellon, Aquaguard Enrich Marvel and V-Guard Rejive 2X in the ₹13,000 to ₹17,000 price bracket are mid-range products with the best feature balance, purification and low maintenance price. Additional features such as Aquaguard Aspire Blaze at ₹27,499 include hot water dispensing and stainless steel tanks, but at a very high price point.
When comparing the budget, do not only look at the initial cost, but the overall cost of ownership after 4-5 years including the replacement of filters, AMC fees, wastage of water and power usage. A purifier that has a high initial price but less maintenance cost can prove to be cheaper in the long term.
Best Brands
Both brands have their strengths and weaknesses. We discuss them briefly below.
The most established brand in the water purifiers in India is Aquaguard (Eureka Forbes). Their network of services is the largest, including small towns and rural locations. Their products are well built and the NanoPore and Active Copper technologies are actually effective. However, their price of replacing filters is high at 5,999. Moreover, the 1-year warranty on most models is not as long as the competitors such as V-Guard and Atomberg provide. The 2 cleaning visits and unlimited repairs free service plan is only offered on the first year.
Atomberg is a comparatively new player in the water purifier industry but they have established a good reputation with their fans and mixer grinders. Their Intellon purifier is innovative with Intelligent Filtration System and the lowest post warranty maintenance cost of 2,960. The smart functionality and IoT integration are great. However, they have an urban-based network of service. In a small town, timely service may be a problem. That being said, the 2-year warranty is all inclusive and there is no cost to it which means that you have plenty of time to test the product.
The use of the existing service infrastructure of Urban Company is an advantage to NATIVE by Urban Company. Service orders are done through apps and technicians are trained and rated. The processing of 100% RO is guaranteed to provide complete purification. However, Urban Company is only represented in large cities. The availability of services in the tier-2 and tier-3 cities can be uneven.
V-Guard is a popular brand of electrical and electronics that has a good presence particularly in South India. The Rejive 2X has an actual no questions asked warranty and proactive service, which is not common in this category. The stainless steel tank and DuoGuard Filter Technology are useful innovations. They have a good service network in South and West India but possibly limited in North and East.
Here we have covered the Stainless Steel Vs ABS Plastic Water Purifier
Livpure provides low-end features at low prices. The 2-year warranty on free maintenance is appealing. However, the low TDS content of 500 ppm on the Allura Prime is a serious limitation to its application. The availability of post-warranty spare parts and service may be not consistent in certain areas.
What are the Maintenance costs of UV water purifiers?
When we talk about RO water purifier maintenance, Kent which is one of leading brand in India, they charge around ₹1500-₹3000 per year and this cost is covering the sediment filter and activated carbon filter replacement, which actually needs to be changed in every 6-8 months only, otherwise TDS removal efficiency will go down. Aquaguard is providing AMC plans that is starting from ₹599 per year itself, and in this plan customer is getting upto 3 free maintenance visits, cleaning of filter and storage tank, unlimited repair visits also, and one free annual filter replacement also included (Source: eurekaforbes.com). Coming to Pureit, their basic AMC plan is covering only the periodic servicing part and standard filter change, but if you take their comprehensive plan, then electrical parts coverage is also there, free urgent visits they are giving, and more flexibility, but for this you have to pay ₹1200-₹2000 extra per year.
Other top brands are also having similar type of costing structure. AO Smith is recommending that UV lamp should be replaced after every 12 months compulsory, because after that UV intensity becomes weak and bacteria killing will not work properly, and pre-filters changing is needed in every 6 months, so total annual cost comes around ₹2000-₹3000.
Livpure’s AMC plan is starting from ₹1999 per year, in which 2 free service visits are included, filter replacement and electrical parts coverage also there (Source: Livpure.com). So keeping all these things in mind, customer should budget minimum ₹2500 per year for AMC and filter replacement purpose, when purchasing a UF water purifier from the brands like KENT, Aquaguard, Pureit, AO Smith and Livpure.

Hi, I live in Gurgaon, where the water hardness is around 300 mg/L. I don’t think all the RO systems mentioned in your list can handle this level of hardness. Could you please suggest the best RO combination that can easily handle water hardness above 300+ mg/L?
Thank you.
Yes, you are correct, not all RO systems can be used effectively at hardness levels that are greater than 300 mg/L. The most effective purification combination is RO + UV + UF in case of water hardness of approximately 300+mg/L. Aquaguard Sure Delight NXT RO+UV+UF – This purifier has a capacity of water hardness to the tune of 600 mg/L. You can get filter life 5000 to 5500 L since input water TDS 300mg/L
Hi, we use borewell water. The TDS is between 90 and 110 ppm. Should we use a normal RO membrane that guarantees 6,000 litres, or a 12,000-liter RO membrane? I have heard that if the input water TDS is under 150 ppm, the RO membrane life increases, and sometimes the filter lasts more than 24 months.
Havells brand also introduced 3x filter life ro, why you have not listed them in your list. Looking for a complete review of the 3X ro filter life.
